ABOUT BC NATION

Our story
In the begining
Fast forward to today, and life looks a little different. Becs immigrated and was craving a way to continue teaching and connecting with people through movement. Cara had just welcomed a baby and was figuring out how to keep teaching, and feeling inspired, without being in a studio every day. Without even realising it, we were both circling the same idea: what if we took this online?
When the conversation finally happened, it was a no-brainer. Same idea, same timing, same spark.
We come from similiar movement backgrounds (you can read more in our bios below), share a genuine passion for helping people feel strong and confident in their bodies, and believe workouts should be effective, energising, and actually enjoyable. Our teaching styles are different, but they complement each other in all the right ways.
BC Nation is a space where movement is intentional but never intimidating, where form matters but perfection doesn’t, and where sweat, laughter, and real connection are always welcome.
We’re here for the good energy, the mind-body connection, and that feeling of finishing a workout and thinking, that felt really good.
And this is just the beginning.

Beautiful & Cute
The B & the C
Rebecca van Loggerenberg
I live on a beautiful island with my hubby and 2 cats and don’t take life too seriously. I love a good laugh, have a tendency to act like a goofball, and am always the one in the room making jokes.
I spent years training and performing as a professional ballerina and contemporary dancer and when I hung up my pointe shoes, life took a very different turn and landed me in the corporate space, where I spent the next decade working a full time desk job. As different as those worlds are, one thing never changed: my love for movement.
Because of my ballet roots, I understand how powerful movement can be but because of my years in corporate, I also understand how hard it can feel to actually get yourself moving. Long days, early mornings, low energy, I’ve been there. That’s why my classes are designed to be effective, uplifting, and realistic. You’ll work hard, move well, and sweat a LOT (well, I do!).
In 2019, I decided to give a barre class a try. That was all it took. I fell completely in love, signed up for my Barre training, and never looked back. I’ve since added Rebounding to the mix, drawn to its fun, efficiency, and how good it feels on the body.
When I recently immigrated, Cara approached me with the idea of taking everything online and so BC nation was born. Co-creating this space has been incredibly exciting, and I can’t wait to see where it takes us.

Cara Scott
I grew up in a small town in the Northern Cape and began ballet at the age of three. My passion led me to train in Stellenbosch, far from home, where I quickly had to learn resilience and dedication. I later became a professional dancer with Joburg Ballet, but ongoing struggles with self-esteem and a persistent hip injury eventually led me to step away from the career that had defined my whole life.
Searching for a new path, and identity, I discovered Barre and instantly fell in love. I became an instructor, and soon after reconnected with Becs, whom I knew from my ballet days. Becs also became an instructor and during the 8 years of us teaching and working together, we became best friends and always spoke of starting a business together, but the time was never right.
Eager to expand my horizon and knowledge in movement, I completed my BASI Pilates comprehensive course and spent years teaching across multiple studios, fully immersed in the work I loved.
When I fell pregnant, I was forced to slow down due to pregnancy sickness for the full 9 months, and looking back now, I am so grateful because it gave me time to reflect on what I truly wanted.
After my little one was born, I knew I wanted to build something of my own, something that allowed me to be present as a mother while continuing to do what I love. At the same time, Becs had moved to Mauritius, and together we finally took the leap to start a business. From there, everything fell into place.
